Opening on April 19, 2019, Tigris is a high-intensity steel “launch” coaster that serves as a modern anchor for the Stanleyville section of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Manufactured by Premier Rides and based on the popular Sky Rocket II model, the attraction stands 150 feet tall and utilizes a triple-launch system to propel riders both forward and backward at speeds of up to 62 mph. The experience begins with a partial forward launch, followed by a powerful backward surge, and finally a high-speed forward blast that carries the train to the summit of the tower. Once at the top, riders navigate a slow, harrowing heartline roll—one of the tallest inversions in the world—before plunging back toward the earth through a non-inverting loop. Occupying the site of the former Tanganyika Tidal Wave, the ride features a compact, vertical footprint and a bright orange track with black supports, while the queue area highlights global tiger conservation efforts.
