Thunder Road was a wooden racing roller coaster featuring two parallel tracks that dispatched trains simultaneously. After climbing a chain lift hill, the trains navigated a series of airtime-filled hills and high-speed drops. The layout followed an out-and-back design, eventually turning back toward the station through a series of banked curves. Passengers experienced the classic vibrations and sounds associated with traditional wooden construction as they raced the opposing train to the finish line.
