Desert Storm

Desert Storm is a steel looping roller coaster at Castles N’ Coasters in Phoenix, Arizona, recognized as the tallest and fastest coaster in the state. Manufactured by Hopkins Rides and opened in 1992, the attraction stands 90 feet tall, reaches a top speed of 50 mph, and features a 2,000-foot track layout with two vertical loops. The ride utilizes a single seven-car train that accommodates 28 passengers with lap bar restraints, and it requires a minimum height of 42 inches to ride. The layout incorporates a curved first drop, two helices—one of which interlocks with the second vertical loop—and several close-proximity passes over other park attractions, including the Splashdown log flume and the Li’l Indy go-kart track.
