Broadway Trip

45 ft
Opening on May 10, 1964, Broadway Trip was a unique and short-lived steel coaster that occupied the space near the current GateKeeper entrance. Manufactured by Mack Rides, this “Wild Mouse” style attraction was famous for its compact, multi-level layout and its distinctive “trip” cars that navigated sharp, unbanked turns and sudden dips. Standing approximately 45 feet tall, it provided a jarring but popular thrill during the park’s mid-century modernization era. However, due to its high maintenance requirements and the arrival of higher-capacity attractions, the ride was closed and removed following the 1964 season, after only one year of operation. It was eventually replaced by the Wildcat in 1970, which would occupy that general area of the park for the next four decades.
