Opening on May 5, 2018, Steel Vengeance is widely considered one of the greatest roller coasters ever built, debuting as the world’s first “hyper-hybrid” (a hybrid coaster exceeding 200 feet). Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), the ride was a massive $7$ million transformation of the defunct Mean Streak wooden coaster, utilizing a steel I-Box track on the original wooden support structure. Standing 205 feet tall with a 90-degree vertical drop, it reaches a top speed of 74 mph and features four inversions, including a unique zero-G stall and multiple rolls threaded through the dense wooden timber. Upon opening, it shattered 10 world records and famously features 27.2 seconds of airtime—more than any other roller coaster on Earth. Located at the back of the park in Frontiertown, it is themed around three outlaws (Blackjack, Chess, and Digger) who have returned to reclaim their territory, providing a relentless, smooth, and highly intense 2.5-minute experience that consistently ranks in the top three steel coasters globally.
