Opening on May 4, 2024, Top Thrill 2 is the world’s tallest and fastest triple-launch “strata” coaster, serving as a massive $25 million reimagining of the original Top Thrill Dragster. Developed by Zamperla, the ride replaced the former hydraulic launch with an innovative Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) system and added a second 420-foot-tall vertical spike at the opposite end of the course. The experience features three distinct launches: an initial forward blast at 74 mph, a backward surge at 101 mph up the new spike, and a final forward launch that hits 120 mph to clear the original “top hat” tower. After a truncated debut season in 2024 due to mechanical modifications required for the trains, the ride successfully reopened on May 3, 2025, and has since reclaimed its status as a headline attraction at the park, offering a significantly longer ride time and unique weightless moments on both massive towers.
