Opening on May 7, 2016, Valravn is a massive steel dive coaster that shattered ten world records upon its debut, including being the tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster in the world. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (their 100th installation), the ride stands 223 feet tall and is famous for its “hold and dangle” element, where the train pauses for four seconds at the edge of a 214-foot vertical drop before plunging straight down at 75 mph. The 3,415-foot layout features three inversions—a 165-foot Immelmann, a dive loop, and a 270-degree roll—all experienced in massive floorless trains that seat riders eight across in three tiered rows. Named after a supernatural “king of birds” from Danish folklore, the ride replaced the Good Time Theatre and Turnpike Cars, becoming the park’s fifth coaster to exceed 200 feet and cementing Cedar Point’s reputation as the “Roller Coaster Capital of the World.”
