Disney's Animal Kingdom

Established 1998

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is currently anchored by its five established lands—Pandora – The World of Avatar, Africa, Asia, Discovery Island, and Rafiki’s Planet Watch—while undergoing the largest expansion in its history. As of March 1, 2026, DinoLand U.S.A. is officially extinct, having permanently closed on February 2, 2026, to make way for the 11-acre Tropical Americas land, scheduled to open in 2027. This new area, centered on the village of Pueblo Esperanza, will feature a large-scale Encanto dark ride inside the Madrigals’ Casita, a wood-carved animal carousel, and a new Indiana Jones adventure that repurposes the DINOSAUR ride system for an original story set in a Maya temple. In the interim, the park has introduced Zootopia: Better Zoogether! inside the Tree of Life theater and is preparing to debut a new Bluey and Bingo interactive experience at the Conservation Station in Summer 2026.
