Expedition Everest

Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is a steel roller coaster at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that stands as the tallest attraction at Walt Disney World, with its artificial peak reaching 199.5 feet. Manufactured by Vekoma, the ride features a 4,424-foot track where trains reach speeds of 50 mph and experience an 80-foot drop. The attraction utilizes two sets of rotating track switches, allowing the train to travel both forward and backward through the mountain after encountering a “broken” track. It has a minimum height requirement of 44 inches and is currently operating with a single-rider line and Lightning Lane Multi Pass access, though as of March 2026, minor aesthetic refurbishment work is being conducted on the station area while the ride remains open to guests.
