Primeval Whirl was a duo of steel spinning “wild mouse” coasters at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that officially permanently closed on March 12, 2020, and was completely demolished by November 2021. Manufactured by Reverchon Industries, the attraction featured 1,378 feet of track with a top speed of 29.1 mph and cars that would spin freely based on the weight distribution of the four passengers. As of March 2026, the site where the coaster once stood is a major construction zone for the Tropical Americas expansion; the land has been cleared to make way for the new Encanto dark ride, which will feature the Madrigal family’s Casita and is scheduled to open in 2027.
