Comet is a classic wooden roller coaster that has been a fixture of the park since its debut in 1946. Designed by Herbert Schmeck and built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, the ride stands 84 feet tall and reaches speeds of 50 mph over a 3,360-foot out-and-back track layout. Known for its traditional “latticework” structure and several cross-overs of the park’s Spring Creek, the attraction continues to utilize two 28-passenger PTC trains and remains one of the most recognizable historic landmarks in the facility.
