Twisted Twins - Lola

Height
80 ft
Speed
55 mph
Length
3,000 ft
Opening on June 15, 1998, as Twisted Sisters, this custom wooden coaster was a rare “dueling” attraction featuring two independent tracks—named Stella and Lola—that mirrored each other for a high-speed, 55 mph showdown. Manufactured by the Custom Coasters International (CCI) firm, the ride stood 80 feet tall and was famous for its multiple “near-miss” moments where the trains would race toward one another at high speeds. Following a legal threat from the band Twisted Sister, the name was changed to Twisted Twins in 2002. The ride operated until the end of the 2007 season, at which point it was closed and left standing-but-not-operating (SBNO) for nearly a decade. While the Stella side was eventually scrapped, the Lola side underwent a massive transformation by Rocky Mountain Construction to become the world-class hybrid coaster Storm Chaser (now Wind Chaser) in 2016.
