Whirlwind was a steel coaster featuring a traditional layout centered around two consecutive corkscrew inversions. The ride utilized a chain lift hill to reach its peak before descending through a series of banked turns and the double inversion element. Riders sat in multi-car trains secured by over-the-shoulder restraints as the track followed a compact footprint. The experience concluded with a final turn into a friction brake run.
