Lake Compounce
Established 1846
Lake Compounce is a 332-acre park in Bristol and Southington, Connecticut, that holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating amusement park in North America, having opened in 1846. The facility is uniquely situated between a large natural lake and a steep mountainside, integrating its terrain into many of its attractions, including the Crocodile Cove water park. Managed by Palace Entertainment, the park maintains a balance of historical charm—represented by its 1911 carousel—and modern thrill engineering, serving as a landmark destination for the New England region.
