Journey to Atlantis

Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando is a pioneer of the “water coaster” genre, seamlessly blending a mysterious dark ride, a traditional log flume, and a steel roller coaster into one six-minute adventure. Following a loose narrative about exploring the resurfaced city of Atlantis, the experience begins as a scenic boat tour that quickly escalates when the “Allure of the Siren” turns hostile, sending riders down a signature 60-foot plunge into a massive splashdown. Unlike standard flumes, the ride features a “third act” where the boat hooks onto a coaster track for a surprise segment of high-speed drops and airtime hills in the dark. While the storytelling has been simplified over the years, the ride remains a park icon for its dual-threat thrills and its “Jewels of the Sea” aquarium exit, which features unique floor-to-ceiling marine displays.
