Penguin Trek, which opened in mid-2024 as the centerpiece of the new Antarctica Realm, is an innovative family launch coaster that balances storytelling with accessible thrills. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard—with track fabricated at the same Clermont Steel plant in Ohio as many of your favorites—the ride features snowmobile-themed trains and a unique indoor-outdoor layout. After a dark-ride segment through an icy cavern, riders experience two separate launches reaching speeds of 43 mph along 3,020 feet of track, providing a “high-speed expedition” feel without any inversions. With a low height requirement of 42 inches, it serves as a perfect multi-generational attraction that culminates in a truly unique finale: passengers disembark directly into the park’s expansive, chilled penguin habitat to observe the birds up close.
