Black Widow was a steel launched shuttle loop roller coaster manufactured by Arrow Dynamics that operated at the park from 1977 until 1999. Originally known as The Loop Coaster, it used an electric motor to propel a single train from a specialized launch platform directly into a vertical loop, after which the train ascended a 110-foot spike before traversing the course in reverse. The ride was a landmark addition during the Riverside Park era as the facility’s first looping coaster, eventually being removed to accommodate the park’s transition into the Six Flags brand.
