Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is the highly anticipated replacement for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida, officially announced in January 2026 and slated for a 2027 opening. This Intamin-manufactured spinning coaster will be a sibling to the version debuting at Universal Studios Hollywood in Summer 2026, though the Orlando installation features a unique, custom layout designed to fit the New York and Production Central areas. The ride’s standout feature is its 360-degree high-speed “drifting” technology, where the ride vehicles—modeled after iconic cars like Dom’s Charger—rotate and slide through corners to simulate a street race. The Florida track will notably include a massive 170-foot-tall vertical spike situated near the Universal Globe and CityWalk, creating a new visual icon for the park’s skyline. As of February 2026, construction is moving rapidly with foundations being poured on the former Rockit site, and Universal has confirmed that the nearby Fast & Furious – Supercharged attraction will permanently close in 2027 to consolidate the franchise into this new, high-thrill experience.
