Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was a landmark steel coaster at Universal Studios Florida that permanently closed on August 18, 2025, after 16 years of operation. Manufactured by Maurer Rides, it was best known for its vertical 167-foot lift hill and the “X-Car” trains that allowed riders to select a personalized soundtrack for their journey. The coaster featured a “non-inverting loop” and wound through the park’s New York and Production Central areas, though it became infamous in its later years for a notoriously rough ride experience and frequent technical downtime. Today, in 2026, the coaster has been completely dismantled to make way for the upcoming Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2027.
