Revenge of the Mummy

Revenge of the Mummy is a world-class indoor “psychological” roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida that masterfully blends high-speed thrills with dark-ride storytelling. Replacing the legendary Kongfrontation in 2004, the ride places you on the “set” of a cursed Mummy sequel where the animatronic Imhotep—voiced by the original film’s cast—threatens to claim your soul. Manufactured by Premier Rides, the attraction features three separate launches, a segment of backward motion, and a series of sudden drops and 80-degree banked turns in near-total darkness, all without any inversions. It is famous for its practical effects, including a “ceiling of fire” that reaches 2,000°F and a signature “fake-out” ending that catches first-time riders off guard. With a 48-inch height requirement and a top speed of 45 mph, it remains one of the park’s most repeatable and beloved rides, conveniently located right in the New York section of the park.
