Universal Studios Island of Adventure
Established 1999
Universal Islands of Adventure is the “thrill-seeker’s” counterpart to Universal Studios Florida, organized around a central lagoon into distinct “islands” themed to literature, comic books, and mythology. Today in 2026, the park is anchored by its two heavy-hitting coaster masterpieces: Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, a story-driven multi-launch trek through the Forbidden Forest, and Jurassic World VelociCoaster, the high-speed “apex predator” of coasters. While the park is famous for its immersive environments like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade and Marvel Super Hero Island, it is currently navigating a period of evolution. Notably, the Jurassic Park River Adventure is closed for a massive, nearly year-long refurbishment scheduled through November 19, 2026, leading to widespread speculation about a Jurassic World re-theme. Additionally, with the Lost Continent seeing recent demolitions and the permanent closure of Poseidon’s Fury, the park’s future expansion remains a major point of discussion among fans as the resort shifts focus following the grand opening of Epic Universe.
