The Incredible Hulk Coaster is a high-speed icon of Marvel Super Hero Island at Universal Islands of Adventure, famous for its unique tire-propelled launch that “shoots” riders out of a 150-foot gamma-ray accelerator tunnel. Reaching a top speed of 67 mph in just two seconds, the Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) masterpiece immediately plunges into a zero-g roll over the park’s lagoon and proceeds through a total of seven inversions, including a massive 110-foot cobra roll and two vertical loops. While it originally opened in 1999, the ride underwent a massive ground-up reconstruction in 2016, which saw every piece of track replaced and the introduction of new trains featuring an aggressive “military aircraft” design and a high-energy onboard soundtrack composed by Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. With its 54-inch height requirement and intense 4-G maneuvers, “The Hulk” remains one of the most physically demanding thrills in Orlando, distinguished by its roaring sound and the massive green tracks that define the park’s skyline.
