Jurassic World VelociCoaster is a launched steel roller coaster at Universal Islands of Adventure that opened on June 10, 2021. Manufactured by Intamin, the ride features two high-speed launches powered by linear synchronous motors (LSM), with the second launch propelling trains from 40 to 70 mph in 2.4 seconds. The 4,700-foot track includes a signature 155-foot-tall “top hat” element with an 80-degree drop and four inversions, including a 100-foot-long zero-gravity stall and a high-speed “Mosasaurus Roll” over the park’s central lagoon. The ride utilizes a lap-bar-only restraint system and has a minimum height requirement of 51 inches. As of 2026, it remains the fastest and tallest launch coaster in Florida and has been consistently ranked as a top steel coaster globally, winning the Theme Park Insider “Best Roller Coaster” award for five consecutive years (2021–2026).
